#NFStrong Walk

The NF Network and NF Central Plains were excited to be back in person for one of our favorite events: the #NFStrong 5K in Kansas City, MO! Thanks to the wonders of technology, we also had some virtual walkers! Besides walking as a group, participants enjoyed face painting, a music trivia contest, hula hoop competition, and a silent auction. Thank you so much to all of our fantastic attendees and sponsors!
NF Central Plains invites you to get comfortable and join us for our upcoming informational series —
1. April 29, 2026 — NF1 plexiform neurofibromas in adults: a closer look at Koselugo (selumetinib);
2. May 13, 2026 — Productive Conversations With Healthcare Providers; and
3. May 27, 2026 — Advocating for Your Child.
Each virtual talk will be led by Joe Booe, our Alexion Patient Education Manager, and will take place at noon Central Time. That way, you can tune-in from your home, office, car, or wherever you are during your lunch break.

NF Central Plains and NF Network hosted this popular event both in-person and virtually this year! 2023's program featured NF patients who inspired the audience and NF experts from across the country who educated us on critical topics. We went on deep dives into the mangement of optic gliomas and research breakthroughs, and also learned to use humor when coping with chronic illness.

A FALL FIELD TRIP

We visited the iconic Boulevard Brewery for a private guided walking tour of the facility. The tour included Tasting Room samples and time in the Beer Hall to socialize. Each guest received a special tasting glass to take home.
